New Life for the Old Trolley Line

The La Plume Township to Dalton Borough segment of the Trolley Trail follows 0.7 miles of the old Northern Electric Trolley railbed. Countryside Conservancy created and maintains the trail, which is a popular spot for walking and biking.

The trail features a gentle grade and gravel surface, which makes it a fun and easy trail for all ages. Parking is available at the trailhead on Cherry Street in Dalton, right off of Route 6.

There are three completed sections of the Trolley Trail. From this section, you can connect to the Keystone College to Factoryville segment via College Road. You can also connect to the Clarks Summit to Dalton section by crossing Route 6, turning onto Maple Street, and continuing down Turnpike Road. Always remain alert when traveling on the road.

Countryside Conservancy plans on expanding the trail so that it eventually connects Clarks Summit to Lake Winola.
