Trolley Trail – La Plume Twp. to Dalton Borough | Scenic Rail-Trail Connection
The La Plume Township to Dalton Borough segment of the Trolley Trail gives new life to 0.7 miles of the former Northern Electric Trolley railbed. Countryside Conservancy created and maintains this section, which has become a favorite for walkers and bikers in NEPA.
The trail features a gentle grade and compacted gravel surface, making it accessible for all ages and skill levels. Because the path remains relatively flat, it works well for casual strolls, family bike rides and easy jogs. Open views and quiet surroundings add to the relaxed countryside feel.
Parking is available at the Cherry Street trailhead in Dalton, just off Route 6. From this segment, users can connect to the Keystone College to Factoryville section via College Road. Additionally, travelers can reach the Clarks Summit to Dalton section by crossing Route 6 and continuing along Maple Street and Turnpike Road. Trail users should remain alert when traveling along road connections.
Countryside Conservancy continues to expand the Trolley Trail system with long-term plans to link Clarks Summit to Lake Winola, creating an even more connected regional pathway.
The La Plume Twp. to Dalton Borough segment of the Trolley Trail offers a short, scenic rail-trail experience with easy regional connections.
