Mission Statement

Countryside Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit land trust committed to protecting and connecting greenspace in and near the Tunkhannock Creek watershed for the public benefit, now and for future generations.

Based in La Plume, Countryside Conservancy protects nearly 1,500 acres of land and water in Lackawanna, Susquehanna and Wyoming counties. This conservation group primarily protects the scenic areas along the Tunkhannock Creek watershed.

Countryside Conservancy currently owns and maintains 14 nature preserves, many of which are open for public use. They also maintain the Trolley Trail in Clarks Summit. Their lands are perfect for outdoor recreation like hiking and biking.

Countryside Conservancy also works directly with landowners. They offer conservation easements, or legal agreements to protect land from inappropriate development.

Countryside Conservancy depends on donations and financial support to keep NEPA beautiful. They also welcome volunteers to help maintain preserves and trails, plan events and assist with administrative duties.
